Hi
Emily – That’s a great question! And, unfortunately, like so many
things in nutrition, there’s not a completely agreed upon answer. Some
people feel the fat content does indeed break a fast, and others
adamantly feel that it does not and that sugar is
the critical thing to leave out. You might experiment to see what it
does for you and if it impacts how you feel, positively or negatively.
This article from Mark’s Daily Apple also has a lot of great info on all
sorts of potential ingredients people use in their coffee: https://www.marksdailyapple.com/does-coffee-break-a-fast/

I am just now getting adapted to fasting 18 to 20 hours every day. I have black coffee and lots of water in the morning. I really want to try bpc, but I don’t want to break what IF has been doing for me. Can you help me to understand if it does or does not break a day. I am told anything with a calorie count breaks a fast.
Thank you,
