This bothered me a lot because this is not who I am, I do not want to be associated with such feelings. I would find myself really upset with myself for having these feelings, well that is until I read this article. The first thought that I really like is that ‘’I am allowed to feel whatever I am feeling’’. The writer in the article explains that people with a high self-worth are not always happy. They also feel the same emotions as everybody else but the difference is that they “create a space for their emotions without feeling guilty about them”. He then further explains that our emotions are tools to help us pay attention. So, what I understand is that this means that our emotions show us what we need to work on within ourselves and when we are done facing our demons and done the necessary healing we simply let go of those emotions that we do not need anymore (source).
