Yes, there’s always hope @mommyjen7:disqus :). The key is patience (along with a good dose of self-awareness). Our deeply-ingrained habits once served a purpose, so understanding what that purpose was can give insight into how we might replace an unhelpful behaviour with one that is more helpful.

For the long-standing habits, I like to use the mantra “swap it, don’t stop it”. In other words, swap the ‘bad’ habit for something that is slightly less ‘bad’ (as opposed to aiming for perfection, or trying to abstain completely).
